“Is there anything left to be done at all” is an exhibition of non-work following a one month long unproductive production-based residency in which Ibghy & Lemmens worked with Justine Chambers, Kevin Rodgers Rodrigo Marti and Ryan Tong to ask: “What remains of the desire to act if the aim to produce something for someone or for something is suspended?”
As artistic practices are increasingly complicit with high-performance culture in contemporary labour regimes, Ibghy & Lemmens question what would remain of the desire to act if the compulsion to produce for the sake of productivity was suspended. After breaking the links that bind intention with realisation and effort with reward, the artists will explore what–if anything–there is left to do.
